KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Kalamazoo is asking for patience from the public after a couple of water main breaks.
One of them has prompted the Health Department to issue a boil water alert for homeowners on Arthur Avenue from Dearborn Avenue on the north to Charles Avenue on the South. They suggest you boil your water before drinking it, or buy some bottled water and use it until test results are back.
A different water main break on Mount Olivet Road between Ashton Avenue and Brook Drive will close the roadway to through traffic until Wednesday.
Road repairs take a few days to complete in winter weather.
The city will be detouring traffic down Riverview to East G Avenue to get around the work zone.
