EMMETT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A crash involving a Michigan State Police cruiser on I-94 is serving as a reminder to drivers to slow down in construction zones.
Authorities say a 76-year-old man from Mississippi was traveling westbound on I-94 in Calhoun County’s Emmett Township late Wednesday night when he struck a construction barrel, swerved into the construction zone, and then hit a stationary police cruiser.
The police cruiser was parked on the highway shoulder with lights flashing urging drivers to slow down and merge.
The driver was cited and there was minor damage to both vehicles.
