KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Metro Transit employees are demanding better wages, better treatment, and even more bathroom breaks.
Union workers held an informational picket outside the bus system’s headquarters in downtown Kalamazoo on Monday, holding signs explaining that they want to be paid what they deserve.
Some signs even had adult diapers taped to them with bus driver’s saying that they wear them to work because they don’t have enough time to use the restrooms and have no scheduled lunch or bathroom breaks.
The demonstration was not a strike and Metro bus services went on as scheduled for the day, but employees say they will continue these pickets whenever possible until a better contract is negotiated with Metro and their Union.
