KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — It will be a whole new kind of freedom for Kalamazoo High Schoolers.
Beginning this fall, the Kalamazoo School Board has agreed to participate in a program that will be operated by Metro Transit, and funded by the City’s Foundation for Excellence to provide every Kalamazoo High School student with a free pass to the Metro System.
It’s called the Youth Mobility Fund Partnership.
Board President Patti Sholler-Barber says it will make a lot of things possible and give students the opportunity to attend more events around the Kalamazoo area.
When High School Students receive their security ID this fall it will also serve for the first time as a library card for the Public Library System and a Metro Transit pass, good for a ride at any time.
