KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Meeting with students, and sampling some beer along the way, Governor Gretchen Whitmer made a stop in both Kalamazoo and Battle Creek for her “Home for Opportunity” tour.
The governor started her busy day Thursday by meeting with students, instructors, and other leaders at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek.
She toured their newly renovated facility and discussed education, job training, and economic development with the Kellogg CC team.
Next, Whitmer made a stop at Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Culinary and Allied Health Center in Kalamazoo.
There she met with students, toured the building, and even had a chance to try some craft beer made by students in KVCC’s brewing program.
She thanked President L. Marshall Washington and Mayor Bobby Hopewell for their hospitality as they ended their walking tour.
This was all part of Governor Whitmer’s “Home for Opportunity” tour across the state, discussing her plans to make sure every Michigander has a path to a high wage skill.
