HOWARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two people are injured and some homeowners lost power after a rollover crash on Christmas morning in Cass County.
It occurred around 11:30 a.m.Tuesday near the intersection of Detroit Road and Barron Lake Road in Howard Township.
Cass County Sheriff deputies say 36-year-old Ikbal Singh and high passenger Shila Devi were traveling eastbound on Detroit when apparently a small dog ran into the road and Singh tried to avoid it.
That’s when the car ran off the road, overturned, and smashed into a utility pole causing the nearby area to lose power until crews were later able to restore it.
The two were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Deputies say the occupants were wearing seatbelts and that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
