KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A purse snatcher is in custody thanks to the tracking work of a Kalamazoo Public Safety K-9.
It happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday at a downtown Kalamazoo bar in the 200 block of East Kalamazoo Avenue. The exact bar name was not released.
A woman contacted officers saying that she set her purse down at the bar when an unknown subject grabbed it and ran out.
A K-9 track was launched but was not needed as officers quickly located the suspect walking down Riverview Drive with the victim’s credit cards.
But K-9 Nero continued to track and found the woman’s purse along the way.
The 34-year-old man was arrested on the charge of larceny from a building and booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail.
