KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Kalamazoo are reporting a search for a home invasion suspect.
Police say that around 6 p.m. Monday night, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 2200 block of Flower St. for a report an armed subject attempting to break into a residence.
Police say the suspect was armed with a handgun and attempted to force his way into the home, but was stopped by the homeowners. The suspect then fled on foot before police could arrive.
Officers established a perimeter and a K-9 track was deployed, but unsuccessful in finding the suspect. The homeowner’s were not injured.
Police say the suspect is described as an unknown black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black ski mask and red jacket. He was observed with a black handgun.
