CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A missing elderly man is now safe thanks to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9, Nellie the Bloodhound.
Deputies were called to M-60 east of Homer around 9 p.m. Sunday after reports that 70-year-old Michael Cox of Cassopolis walked away from his home around 7:45 p.m. and had not returned.
His caretaker was worried because he has medical issues so authorities launched K-9 Nellie who found Cox about 4-hours later, laying behind some thick brush in the woods.
Cox was medically cleared by first responders and safely returned home.
