KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — There is now a vacant seat on the Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Ron Kendall, who has represented District 6 voters since 2016, officially resigned from the board Wednesday night.
He was not present at the meeting, and the main reason behind his resignation was not explained.
The Commissioners present spoke fondly about their time working with him. Vice Chair Tracy Hall said “we were able to disagree without being disagreeable.”
Now the commission has 30-days to fill their vacant seat. They will take applications until August 16th, review and select candidates on the 20th, and then hold interviews on the 27th.
Those wishing to apply for the position should send an email of intent to dpsutt@kalcounty.com.
