INGHAM COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — Three fishermen from West Michigan have been caught with far more walleye than they were allowed to catch.
The DNR got a phone tip that the three men were overfishing in the Detroit River and a description of their vehicle.
They were spotted heading west in Ingham County and pulled over.
DNR game officers found 80 walleye in the vehicle. That’s 65-more that they were allowed to catch and keep in one day.
The 3-anglers from Allendale, Jenison and Byron Center were ticketed and a judge will set the fine and decide whether they are stripped of their fishing licenses.
