PORTER TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Deputies say a man standing in his own garage became the victim of vehicle-pedestrian accident when a driver who was suspected of being high on marijuana, who had also been drinking, went out of control and drove through the detached garage Saturday evening.
Investigators say the 55-year-old from Union was northbound on Sunset Boulevard when he left the pavement and went into the garage around 6:30 pm.
He struck 46-year-old homeowner Victor Dufour, who suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to Elkhart General for treatment.
His condition was not released.
The suspected at-fault driver suffered a minor laceration on his forehead. He could face charges this week following blood tests.
