(LANSING MI) (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has signed a new executive order creating an Educator Advisory Council within the Michigan Department of Education. The council will have 15 members from the Education community to advise the Governor and make recommendations for legislation. In a statement Whitmer said, “By creating the Educator Advisory Council, we can finally give educators a seat at the table so they can help develop public school policies that will help our students get the skills they need to compete for good-paying jobs and thrive right here in Michigan.” Anyone interested in serving on the panel has until April 19th to apply.
