KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Three Kalamazoo teens are facing a dozen charges and two other suspects could join them after a home invasion near the Knollwood Apartments.
The victim told Public Safety officers that he was forced into his home at gunpoint just after 10:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Knollwood Avenue and the group stole items from the home and fled.
The robber’s getaway vehicle was located near Grand Avenue and West Main Street and after a short police pursuit, two occupants jumped out of the vehicle and the 19-year-old driver was arrested near Woodward Avenue and Mabel Street.
Officers later discovered and arrested two other 19-year-old’s and recovered two firearms, one which was reported stolen.
The 3 suspects were arrested on 12 charges: first degree home invasion, armed robbery, felony firearm, fleeing and eluding, unlawful imprisonment, conspiracy, aiding and abetting, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, larceny from a vehicle, and accessory after the fact.
The same charges are also being requested on two additional suspects.
