KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — There has been another delay in the prosecution of Jason Dalton, the so-called Uber killer.
Dalton is charged with killing six people and wounding two others in February of 2016.
The State Supreme Court has ordered the Court of Appeals to review whether the interrogations conducted by police following his arrest can be used at trial.
The defense claims that detectives ignored Dalton’s repeated requests for a lawyer.
Judge Alexander Lipsey had already tossed most of an interview conducted by local investigators, but allowed most of the interrogation done by State Police.
Reviewing that decision could delay the trial by months.
Prosecutor Jeff Gettings has said in the past that he has enough evidence to convict Dalton, with or without these interview tapes.
