KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Authorities say the death of a vivacious Kalamazoo woman by her ex-boyfriend followed an argument at her apartment in the Hunter’s Ridge complex and was no accident.
Court Documents claim that Donnavan Lewis punched 24-year-old Nayia Mack in the face with his fist, knocking her out, and then slit her throat with a kitchen knife.
He then dumped her body in a creek in Comstock Township, later leading detectives back to the location.
The 25-year-old Lewis has been charged with felony murder and ordered held without bond.
Lewis will be back in court on July 19th for preliminary exam.
