KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Specific dates are now being released on the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport’s plan to shut down its main runway for two weeks this upcoming summer.
All commercial flights out of Kalamazoo will be suspended and vacation and business travelers will have to make other arrangements between June 10th through the 26th.
The project is being funded by a $4.6-million dollar grant from the FAA with some state and local funds.
If all goes as planned, the airport should reopen in time for the busy Fourth of July travel holiday.
