KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Court documents have revealed that a young woman who was violently murdered in Comstock earlier this summer was suspected of having a relationship with a prominent member of the Kalamazoo community, and jealousy was the motive for her murder.
Suspect Donnovan Lewis confessed that he was angry about texts Aniya Mack had been getting from Rev. Strick Strickland, the Pastor at the Second Baptist Church and President of the Kalamazoo NAACP.
Lewis told Sheriff’s Deputies that triggered the argument that led to her death. He allegedly told police he slit her throat after knocking her out with a punch.
And then stuffed her body in a suitcase and dumped it in a creek.
Strickland is denying any relationship with Mack.
