PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Portage man is now in the Kalamazoo County Jail after a firearm scare at a mobile home park.
Portage Public Safety officers were called to the Colonial Acres Residential Park on Deadwood Drive near South Sprinkle Road around 10:30 a.m.Thursday after they received reports of a man walking around with what was believed to be a firearm.
When authorities approached the man he fled on foot and a Kalamazoo Public Safety K-9 eventually helped them locate the 25-year-old suspect.
One Portage officer suffered a minor injury during the foot chase.
The man was arrested for an outstanding warrant as well as resisting and obstructing causing injury, but a firearm was never located.
