PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Portage City Council is officially naming their next city manager.
At their meeting on Tuesday they unanimously approved the appointment of Joseph La Margo, the former village manager for Orland Park, Illinois.
La Margo beat out finalist, Lisa Imus, the city planner and director of community and economic development for the nearby community of Douglas.
Portage Mayor Patricia Randall made her recommendation to council members after the interviews of the two finalists, saying that La Margo is “an excellent, excellent candidate.”
The council is expected to approve his contract at their next meeting on September 17th.
