CARLTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One person is suffering from life-threatening injuries after they were stabbed while inside a vehicle in Barry County.
It occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday on Barber Road south of M-43 in Carlton Township, north of Hastings.
Officers say the victim was a front seat passenger in a vehicle when they were stabbed multiple times by the backseat passenger.
The victim was able to flee to a nearby residence to get help and the suspect fled on foot from the vehicle until he was tracked down by a Barry County Sheriff K-9.
The suspect, 29-year-old David Gene Krebs II of Vermontville was arraigned on Friday on attempted murder and habitual offender charges. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 18th.
The victim was taken to Butterworth Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
