GRAND LEDGE, MI — Mitten Misfits will be breaking ground later this week on a new barn at the farm animal sanctuary. The facility is located at 8650 W Mt Hope Hwy, Grand Ledge, MI.
According to Vick Worthy, the founder of Mitten Misfits, the new barn will be over five times the size of their current barn. It will include amenities such as a therapy arena, a quarantine stall, a medical stall, a wash stall, automatic watering to each stall and proper storage for feed and equipment.
The barn also will allow Mitten Misfits to better use their entire acreage to best serve their animals, she said. Mitten Misfits was founded in 2020. Worthy thanked the Horak Charitable Foundation for a generous donation.
A semi formal ceremonial ground breaking will take place at Mitten Misfits at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5th.
