KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Bronson Healthcare system has announced the selection of sites for seven new primary care practices that will open in summer of 2020.
According to an official press release, construction on five of the buildings started in August, and work on the two remaining sites will begin this fall.
“Adding seven more primary care locations to the Bronson Healthcare system will greatly enhance access for many patients in these communities,” chief operating officer for Bronson Medical Group Laurel Barber said in the release. “Bronson Medical Group looks forward to partnering with the providers at these new practices to coordinate care for Bronson patients so, together, we can improve the overall health status of the adults and children we serve.”
Two of these locations will be in the Kalamazoo area. Work has already begun on the new location on West Main Street, which will be behind the Bronson FastCare facility.
The other Kalamazoo location will be built at I-94 & 9th Street, which is said to begin in late September. The work is expected to begin sometime this week.
A full list of new facilities and their locations is as follows:
· 6210 West Main Street, Kalamazoo (behind Bronson FastCare)—construction has started
· 2700 East Centre Ave., Portage—construction has started
· 601 S. US 131, Three Rivers—construction has started
· 8808 Vineyard Drive, Texas Corners—construction has started
· 8906 M-89, Richland—construction has started
· I-94 & 9th Street, Kalamazoo—construction starts late September
· I-94 & S. 35th Street, Galesburg—construction starts late fall
The press release notes that the new locations will be staffed by about 60 providers from Portage Physicians, P.C. who will begin working with Bronson in July 2020.
