CASSOPOLIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County police are investigating a head on crash that occurred at the intersection of M-51 and Warren Road, in Howard Township early Saturday morning, September 28th.
Police report that 56 yr old Niles resident, Vicky Light, was South Bound on M-51 when a vehicle driving northbound entered her lane of traffic, causing a head on collision.
The driver of the vehicle that came into the south bound lane of traffic causing the accident left the scene.
Light was transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial for her injuries. The passenger in the vehicle with Mrs. Light, Brad Light, a 57 year old Niles resident, was also transported by ambulance for treatment.
The passenger in the at fault vehicle, 31 year old Shipshewana resident, Kimberly McCann, was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Seat belts were worn and alcohol does appear to be a factor in this accident which remains under investigation.
