PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is seriously injured after he was struck by two vehicles while trying to cross the road in Portage.
It happened around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday on Sprinkle Road at Commercial Avenue.
Public Safety officers say the 56-year-old man was attempting to cross the east side of Sprinkle and was waiting in the center turn lane when he was struck by a 2010 Ford pickup, driven by a 65-year-old male Kalamazoo resident who was pulling out of a private driveway.
The impact of the crash then sent the pedestrian into the southbound lanes of Sprinkle where he was hit again by a 2006 Chevy pickup, driven by a 57-year-old Kalamazoo resident.
The man was rushed to Bronson Hospital with serious injures.
Traffic on Sprinkle was restricted for about 3-hours while Portage officers investigated the crash.
