CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a two-vehicle crash involving a UPS truck sent one teen to a hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the crash occurred around 4:30 in Cass County when deputies responded to a call at Barron Lake Road north of White Street in Howard Township.
22-year-old Casandra Zarala of Dowagiac was the driver of the UPS truck and was attempting to turn left into a driveway. The other vehicle was driven by 58-year-old Kristine Mann of Niles. Mann was traveling southbound with two passengers when the UPS truck turned in front of her, causing the collision.
17-year-old of Kelsey Mann of Niles had to be transported by ambulance to Lakeland Hospital Niles for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. Seat belts were worn by all involved, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors. Speed also does not appear to be a factor.
