PORTER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Sheriff deputies are investigating a fiery crash that the driver managed to escape.
It happened just after 9 p.m. Wednesday on Harvey Street near Walnut Road in Porter Township.
34-year-old Jamee Ketchem of Indiana was traveling eastbound on Harvey when she failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into some trees, causing the vehicle to become fully engulfed in flames.
She was able to escape the vehicle before the fire and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Airbags did deploy and a seatbelt was used. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
