BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Battle Creek Fire Department is investigating a suspicious fire that took place inside of a vacant building.
Sunday evening, officials were called to a two-story building at 66 Wilkes Street which was on fire in the rear section.
No occupants were inside, and the building was discovered to be vacant as the utilities had been shut off. No injuries were reported in the incident and the fire was extinguished quickly.
The fire is said to be suspicious in nature and remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Battle Creek Fire Department Station 1 at 269-966-3519.
