KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Red Cross is urging citizens to consider donating blood or platelets to cancer patients as a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
According to an official press release, Breast Cancer is the second most common cancer in women, and donating blood and platelets can help patients.
Donors of all types are encouraged to participate, with those who have blood type O especially encouraged.
Citizens who participate through October will be entered into a contest to win one of five $500 gift cards redeemable at hundreds of stores through Tango Card.
