KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An Italian restaurant in downtown Kalamazoo is selling its property, but it’s not going away.
Mangia Kitchen and Bar, which opened on the Kalamazoo Mall in 2008, announced yesterday that they are planning to relocate and focus more on their catering a food truck business.
The property will be sold to Radiant Church, who recently purchased space above the restaurant and was looking to expand even more.
Mangia Kitchen and Bar will remain open until November and they will continue holiday parties and other private events through mid-December.
“I’ve been in the restaurant business my whole life. While this has been my lively hood, Maria and I are ready to slow down a bit. We will focus on our catering and food truck business from a new location — but stay tuned — we are always full of surprises!” said Emilio Dacoba, proprietor.
Details on their future location have not been released.
