KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man, who first claimed his girlfriend was shot and injured by someone else, is heading to prison after a domestic violence incident.
54-year-old Frederick Cross was sentenced Monday to a minimum of 3-years and 2-months behind bars after he pled guilty in September to 1-charge of domestic violence, a felony firearm charge, and possession of meth.
Cross showed up at Bronson Methodist with his injured girlfriend back in July and first said she was shot in the arm while walking along North Westnedge Avenue but then evidence showed that he actually shot her at a home in the 400-block of West Frank Street on Kalamazoo’s Northside.
Cross has had 2-prior domestic violence convictions among several other charges.
