SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man is dead and two drivers are at large after a hit and run in Springfield.
It occurred around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 4300 block of West Dickman Road near Army Street.
Calhoun County Sheriff deputies say the 59-year-old victim was walking from the Brookside Apartments to the nearby party store when he was struck by a car in the eastbound lanes of Dickman. The impact then threw him into the westbound lanes where he may have been hit by another vehicle.
Neither of them stopped and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name has not been released and investigators are looking into surveillance footage to see if they can get details of the suspects’ vehicles.
