RICHLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Gull Lake High School will not play varsity football this fall amid an investigation into assault allegations against several players.
Interim head football coach Josh Cunningham sent an email to the families of the players and said he met with a group of varsity football players “who shared significant concerns about the upcoming season.”
Those concerns included their personal safety and the ability to compete successfully.
Michigan State Police are investigating assault allegations against several Blue Devils players at an Oceana County football camp that happened in June.
Gull Lake’s junior varsity team will play this season.
