KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Applications are now open for anyone interested in becoming a Kalamazoo Public Safety officer.
The process consists of an application, a written test, a background packet, physical agility test, and several interviews.
Qualified applicants must be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and be at least 21-years old at the time of appointment which will be in May of next year.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are cross-trained as police officers, firefighters, and medical first responders. About 10 to 15 officers will be chosen.
