PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Public Safety officers say two girls were hit while attempting to cross the road in Portage.
It happened around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of West Centre Avenue, west of Shaver Road.
The two juveniles were crossing the road not in a crosswalk when they were struck by two different vehicles traveling eastbound on West Centre.
One girl was not injured but the other 14-year-old girl was taken to Bronson Hospital where her condition has not been released.
Alcohol or speed do not appear to be factors in the crash and the incident is still under investigation.
