WASHINGTON, DC (WKZO AM/FM) – Republican Congressman Tom Barrett of Charlotte was among four GOP members of the House to join with all Democrats to approve a war powers resolution to pressure President Trump to end the war with Iran.
The symbolic vote does not have the force of law, but it reflects the discontent among some Republicans with the war.
Barrett served 22 years in the U.S. Army in locations including Iraq, Kuwait, the Korean DMZ and Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
Along with him, Congressmen Warren Davidson of Ohio, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania voted for the resolution, and they also voted for a House war powers resolution in June.
