COOPER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A teenager is in police custody and the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two other suspects after two separate police chases of a stolen car Thursday.
The teen was driving the car when deputies were able to lay stop spikes to deflate the tires and was arrested, but the other two ran off.
The car was one of at least nine that were stolen on Wednesday and deputies say it was one of several taken from 58 West Apartments in Oshtemo Township.
Deputies found the car as it was leaving Coopers Landing Apartments after it had successfully fled from county and city of Kalamazoo officers earlier in the day.
