KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo drug dealer has received a life sentence on multiple drug-related charges in federal court.
Steve Whyte was charged with providing heroin to a customer named Steve Boomer in 2016. Boomer died as a result of using the drug.
Police say that Whyte sold the drugs through a middleman, while Whyte claimed that he had been set up.
Whyte was previously arrested in February 2016. A search of a house he was using resulted in multiple drug-related items and a gun being found. Whyte was also found to be in possession of multiple guns.
Whyte’s sentencing was more severe due to his history of drug-related offences.
