KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is in custody after he attempted to break into an occupied home in the city’s Oakwood Neighborhood.
It happened just before 1 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 2,800 block of Edgewood Drive near Madison Street in Kalamazoo.
The homeowner watched the suspect and gave Kalamazoo Public Safety officers a detailed description as they arrived.
The 26-year-old man was still on the property when officers showed up and he was quickly arrested for home invasion and for being in possession of burglary tools.
Officers praised the homeowner for being alert and for safely stopping the break in.
