EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kevin Guskiewicz has rescinded his resignation as Michigan State University president and will stay on in East Lansing.
He had announced on May 27th that he was leaving to take the job of president at Clemson University, but says after “much thought, countless conversations and careful consideration, I have decided to remain at Michigan State University and continue serving as your president.”
Guskiewicz was going to leave MSU after two trustees raised transparency concerns about the secret fund being created to pay athletes called Spartan Ventures.
His pay will be one-point-five-million-dollars a year, less than the two-million-dollars the MSU Board of Trustees had authorized in May to try to convince him to stay.
