KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is facing multiple felony charges after a search warrant involving SWAT team members on the city’s Eastside.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were called to the 1000 block of Bridge Street near Riverview Drive around 8:20 p.m. Friday after a report of three missing children.
They eventually found them with the father of two of the children, who did not have permission to have them, and all three were safely recovered by a relative.
Officers attempted to contact the man inside an apartment on Bridge Street but he refused to cooperate.
That’s when a search warrant was drafted and the Kalamazoo Metropolitan SWAT team was called in to arrest the man.
The 26-year-old suspect, who also had outstanding arrest warrants, was taken into custody after authorities located two firearms inside the home.
He was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail.
