KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Officials have determined that fans broke a world record at a Kalamazoo Wings game earlier this month.
On Saturday November 2nd at the Wings Event Center, fans attempted to break the largest lightsaber battle world record for Star Wars Night.
After officials have reviewed the footage, the team is now officially the Guinness World Records holder.
They beat the previous record from an earlier lightsaber battle in Kansas City.
The hockey team says the battle lasted three minutes and 45 seconds, with stadium-goers being handed lightsabers as they walked in. The new record listing says that 3,889 people particpated overall in the lightsaber battle.
