EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University’s Carson Cooper went undrafted in the NBA draft this week, but he his NBA dream is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The MSU forward agreed to a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies following the conclusion of the NBA Draft on Wednesday night, according to a report by ClutchPoints.com.
The 6-foot-11, 245-pound native of Jackson, Mich., went from an unranked recruit MSU’s 2022 class to a senior-year starter under Tom Izzo this past season. Known mostly for his defense, Cooper averaged 11.1 points and 7.1 rebounds in 2025-26 while shooting 58.4%, showing the ability to run in transition and finish at the rim with dunks on lobs from MSU guard Jeremy Fears, which made the game highlights more often than not.
