PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A volunteer driver for Van Buren County senior services is facing time behind bars after attempting to sexually assault a woman earlier this year.
Juan Manuel Lopez of Decatur was sentenced Monday to one to 15 years in prison for third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to court documents, Lopez drove a 65-year-old woman to an appointment with her doctor on April 3rd, 2019.
Lopez is accused of later returning her to her Paw Paw apartment and following her inside.The victim reported that he put his arms around her neck and kissed her.
The woman reported the assault to Senior Services of Van Buren County the following day and police began an investigation into the incident.
