KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety has announced that one of their K-9 units will be retiring from the department soon.
K-9 unit Jax will be serving his final shift on Monday, Nov. 25th.
Jax served on the department with Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Sgt. Jeff DeBlecourt over the last nine years.
During that time, Jax helped apprehend over 200 suspects, along with with over $56,000 in confiscated drugs.
Jax is 10 and a half years old and will continue living with DeBlecourt and his family after his retirement.
