KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Nine people are now in the Kalamazoo County Jail after a search warrant in the Edison Neighborhood turned up drugs, guns, and several wanted criminals.
On Wednesday, detectives from the Southwest Enforcement Team executed a search warrant in the 1300 block of East Stockbridge Avenue near Poplar Place looking for drugs.
They utilized the Kalamazoo Metro Special Response Team because there was information that there could be weapons inside the home.
There they found 11 adults and two children, including one infant. Nine of those 11 adults had multiple arrest warrants ranging from traffic warrants, child support, drugs and a parole absconder.
The nine were taken into custody. Detectives also seized a handgun, prescription drugs, heroin, and meth from inside the home.
Authorities say that child protective services will be notified and drug charges will be submitted to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s office.
The investigation is still ongoing.
