KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Public School District is releasing their schedule for the 2020-2021 school year, and it may come as a surprise to some.
On Twitter Monday afternoon the district posted a graphic showing that the first day of school will be a half day on Monday August 31st, a week before Labor Day.
There will then be a break for the Labor Day weekend from September 4th through September 7th.
It also shows dates for:
- Thanksgiving Break: Wednesday November 25th – Friday November 27th
- Winter Break: Monday December 21st – Friday January 1st
- Spring Break: Friday March 26th – Friday April 2nd
The current school year started September 3rd, the day after Labor Day. Some school districts may follow suit because Labor Day is later in 2020 than it was this year.
