COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County authorities say they found nothing suspicious inside an over 50-year-old vehicle located at the bottom of a lake.
The muddy 1967 Chevrolet Impala was pulled out of Morrow Lake earlier this week after it was discovered as crews began lowering the lake levels.
Previously, officials announced that they would be conducting a 13-foot drawdown of Morrow Lake for maintenance activities at the Morrow Dam.
Undersheriff James VanDyken said the vehicle could’ve been in the lake for more than 40 years, but somehow it was still in very good condition.
In fact he told reported that the tires even still had air in them.
They will now be looking for the vehicle identification number to determine if it was stolen or identify who was the original owner.
