HARTFORD CITY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a meth bust in Hartford City has led to two arrests.
Previously, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation into illegal narcotics activities taking place at a residence in Hartford City and were able to obtain a search warrant in the process.
Around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, the Van Buren County swat team executed the search warrant. At the time, the residence contained a 33-year-old male, a 31-year-old female and a 4-month old-child.
Upon searching the premises, authorities located suspected methamphetamine, drug packaging materials, digital scales, paraphernalia for using methamphetamine and two firearms.
The 33-year-old male was arrested on the following charges:
- Possession With Intent to Deliver (PWID) Methamphetamine
- Felon in possession of Firearm
- Felony Firearm
- Maintaining a Drug House
The 31-year-old woman was arrested on the following charges:
- Possession With Intent to Deliver (PWID) Methamphetamine
- Maintaining a Drug House
Both suspects have been lodged at the Van Buren County Jail while awaiting review.
Police say that Children’s Protective Services (CPS) was called to the scene and made disposition of the child. Any investigation into the children’s well being and living conditions will be conducted by CPS.
The case remains under investigation at this time.
