PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo-based BBQ chain Kelvin & Co. has announced the opening of a new location in Portage.
This Portage location marks the fourth location opened in the history of the chain. Previously, a location in Downtown Kalamazoo had to close due to declining business, while a location in Grand Rapids closed due to flooding.
The other open location is on West Main St. in Kalamazoo.
The new location in Portage features much of the same menu as other locations, but has new additions and variations. Among the new choices is jackfruit, a vegetarian substitution with a taste similar to BBQ pulled pork.
The new Portage spot has opened in the former location of Mackenzie’s Bakery.
